    Copper testing is usually done to diagnose a rare condition called Wilson's disease, wherein the liver is unable to clear copper from body leading to its deposition in the liver, brain and other organs. It may also be used if other forms of copper toxicity or deficiency is suspected. Typically serum ceruloplasmin and if required a 24 hour urinary copper is also checked along with serum copper.

    Test Instructions

    This test requires a 24 hour collection. Empty your bladder completely first thing in the morning and collect urine everytime you go to the toilet for the next 24 hours, including the first time the next morning.
