This medication is an ovulatory stimulant, prescribed for infertility due to anovulation. It increases production of gonadotropins and causes the ovaries to release 1 or more eggs.
Clomiphene helps eggs to finish growing. It lets them go to be fertilized.
Oral: 50 mgday for 5 days starting on the 5th day of menstrual cycle or at any time if there is absence of a menstrual period. It may be increased to 100 mgday for the 2nd course as early as 30 days after previous therapy if needed. Total max: 6 treatment cycles. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day.
Hot flashes. Wearing layers of clothes or summer clothes and staying in cool places may help. Ovarian cyst. Headache. Blurred eyesight. Use care when driving or doing other tasks that call for clear eyesight. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Belly pain. For women, breast soreness. Period (menstrual) changes. These include lots of bleeding, spotting, or bleeding between cycles.

If you have an allergy to clomiphene or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Liver disease, ovarian cysts, pituitary tumor, adrenal gland disease, thyroid gland disease, or vaginal bleeding. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Trouble breathing. Very bad belly pain. Very bad headache. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Swelling, warmth, or pain in the leg or arm. For women, if you get pregnant while taking this drug. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Oral: Store at 15-30°C.Store it in room temperature and in airtight container.
