Crocin Pain Relief Tablet is most commonly used in the treatment of common cold and fever. It also relieves one from minor to moderate pains such as toothache, headache, backache, migraine. It is further used as a mild stimulant for CNS, and short term treatment of neonatal apnoea of prematurity. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.



The active ingredients of Crocin Pain Relief Tablet are Paracetamol 650mg and Caffeine 50mg.

Paracetamol (or Acetaminophen) primarily acts as an analgesic and an antipyretic agent. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. It produces its analgesic effects by increasing the pain threshold and antipyresis by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

On the other hand, Caffeine is a CNS stimulant which helps improve attention and alertness.

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking the Crocin Pain Relief Tablet:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the components used in the Crocin Pain Relief Tablet such as Paracetamol and Caffeine
  • Active hepatic disease, severe
  • Hepatic impairment, severe
  • Caution:
  • Arrhythmia
  • Cardiovscular disease
  • HTN
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • PUD
  • GI bleeding history
  • GERD
  • Seizure disorder
  • Renal impairment
  • Electrolyte abnormalities

  • Hepatic impairment, mild-moderate
  • Active Hepatic disease mild-moderate
  • Hypovolemia, severe
  • Malnutrition, chronic

Side Effects

Side and Adverse Effects

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of Crocin Pain Relief Tablet. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Insomnia
  • Constipation, pediatric patients
  • Pruritus, pediatric patients
  • Agitation, patients, patients
  • Atelectasis, pediatric patients
  • Rash
  • Dizziness
  • CNS stimulation
  • Anxiety
  • Palpitations
  • Tachycardia
  • BP elevated
  • Tremor
  • Polyuria
  • Diarrhea
  • Photosensitivity

Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

  • Hypersensitivity reaction
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Skin reaction, severe
  • Hepatotoxicity
  • Renal tubular necrosis, acute
  • Analgesic associated. Nephropathy (Chronic use)
  • Anemia
  • Thrombocytopenia
  • Hypokalemia
  • Arrhythmias
  • HTN
  • Electrolyte imbalance
  • Headache exacerbation, if use more than 10 days/month)
How to Use

How to Use

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow Crocin Pain Relief Tablet whole – immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not break/crush/chew the tablet.

Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.

Crocin Pain Relief Tablet may be taken with or without food.

It is usually taken twice a day.

Take the dosage as directed by your doctor at the prescribed time and dosage. For children: talk to your doctor before giving the tablet.


Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Anorexia
  • Metabolic acidosis

Take the Crocin Pain Relief Tablet only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:


Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of Crocin Pain Relief Tablet.


Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of Crocin Pain Relief Tablet.


Paracetamol or Acetaminophen: May be used during pregnancy – no known risk of fetal harm.
Caffeine: May be used during pregnancy because no fetal harm expected based on human data.


Exercise caution while use. And consume the tablet only on the advice of a medical practitioner.

Drug Interactions:

Caution always advised when used with other medicines. Therefore, inform your doctor about your current list of medication which you start or stop.

  • Keep this medication out of sight and reach of children.
  • Store in room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
  • Do not use the medicine beyond its expiry.
  • Do not accept the torn strip or a broken tablet.
