Combiflam ICYHOT Spray 35gm is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for topical application. This Spray is used in the treatment and prevention of pains such as osteoarthritis, backache, musculoskeletal pains, psoriatic arthritis, and osteochondrosis with the radicular syndrome. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Combiflam ICYHOT Spray 35gm are Diclofenac 1.16% w/w, Linseed Oil 3% w/w, Menthol 5% w/w, and Methyl Salicylate 10% w/w.
Diclofenac acts by inhibiting both leukocyte migration and the enzyme cyclooxygenase (cox-1 and cox-2) leading to the peripheral inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandins are compounds which basically activate pain receptors. Thus, when Diclofenac inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, the analgesic effect of Diclofenac has been produced.
Linseed oil diminishes skin rashes, skin irritation, and redness.
On the other hand, Menthol provides a cooling effect on the skin, post-application.
Lastly, Methyl Salicylate works by giving a temporary analgesic effect.
