Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 100ml is a combination of 3 drugs.It is used as an expectorant and mucolytic. It is used to relieve one from the common cold, cough, chest tightness, influenza, and other respiratory-related infections. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. The active ingredients of Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 100ml are Ambroxol 30mg, Guaifenesin 50mg, and Terbutaline 1.25mg/5ml.
Ambroxol stimulates the release of certain surfactants. These surfactants come with an anti-glue factor which helps to reduce sticking of mucus to the bronchial wall and also gives protection against infections.
Guaifenesin helps to reduce the viscosity of the thickened mucus, thus helping in expelling the mucus out, easily.
Terbutaline works by relaxing the muscles and opens the airways thus relieves chest tightness and shortness of breath.
