Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 120ml is a combination of 3 drugs.It is used as an expectorant and mucolytic. It relieves common cold, cough, chest tightness, influenza, and other respiratory-related infections. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 120ml are Ambroxol 30mg, Guaifenesin 50mg, and Terbutaline 1.25mg/5ml.

Ambroxol stimulates the release of certain surfactants. These surfactants come with an anti-glue factor which helps to reduce sticking of mucus to the bronchial wall and also gives protection against infections.

Guaifenesin helps to reduce the viscosity of the thickened mucus, thus helping in expelling the mucus out, easily.

Terbutaline works by relaxing the muscles and opens the airways thus relieves chest tightness and shortness of breath.

How to Use

How to Use

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by the doctor. Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 120ml is meant for oral administration. Shake the bottle well before consuming. Dosage can be administered with the cap that comes along with the container.

If you forget taking your dose, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.

Take Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 120ml with or without food. Dosage as suggested by your doctor or follow the instructions given on the bottle container or on the prescription.

Overdosage

Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

Kidney:

Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of this Deriphyllin BM Expetorant 120ml..

Liver:

Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of Deriphyllin BM Expectorant 120ml.

Pregnancy:

Ambroxol: Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or likely to get pregnant because safety during lactation is not yet established.

Guaifenesin: This drug may be used during pregnancy – risk of fetal harm not expected based on human data.
Terbutaline: Do not take this drug during pregnancy to prevent premature labor.

Lactation:

Ambroxol: This drug is not recommended during lactation because this drug may excrete into breastmilk and harm a breastfeeding infant.
Guaifenesin: Caution advised during pregnancy – no human data available to evaluate effects on milk production.
Terbutaline: Do not take this medicine without the advice of a doctor – risk of infant harm not expected based on drug properties and insufficient human data and no data available to evaluate effects on milk production.
