Dolowin MR Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and analgesic agent generally prescribed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It relieves one from inflammation and pain. This tablet is also used as a muscle relaxant. In addition, it produces a sedative effect. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Dolowin MR Tablet are Aceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen) 325mg and Chlorzoxazone 250mg.
Aceclofenac is a derivative of phenylacetic acid that withholds the participation of Cyclooxygenase compound. Cyclooxygenase is an enzyme that is responsible for the formation of prostanoids including thromboxane and prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are responsible for causing the pain, fever, swelling, and redness. Thus with the entire process, pain causing factors are eliminated.
Paracetamol or Acetaminophen primarily acts as an analgesic and an antipyretic agent. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. It produces its analgesic effects by increasing the pain threshold and antipyresis by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.
Lastly, Chlorzoxazone reduces skeletal muscle spasm and relieves one from pain.
