Drotin M Tablet is used as an antispasmodic medication which is used in the treatment of functional bowel syndrome and relieves pain in renal colic. Besides, it is also used to treat dysmenorrhoea (menstrual cramps), menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding). However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Drotin M Tablet are Drotaverine 80mg and Mefenamic Acid 250mg.
Drotaverine is a spasmolytic agent which helps in smooth muscle relaxation.
Mefenamic Acid acts by restraining cyclooxygenase, an enzyme responsible for formation of prostanoids. Prostanoids consist of prostaglandins and prostaglandins are responsible for inflammation and anaphylactic reactions. Thus reducing inflammation and pain.

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or chew it.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take Drotin M Tablet either with food.
Take the medicine at the prescribed time and dosage.
For children: Talk to your doctor before giving the tablet.
Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, look for any new symptoms. If you observe any, promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.

Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 40-80 mg 3 timesday. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
