HIfenac MAX Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic medicine generally prescribed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. This medicine also relieves one from inflammation and pain. Besides, this tablet is also used as a skeletal muscle relaxant. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. The active ingredients of HIfenac MAX Tablet are Aceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen) 325mg, and Thiocolchicoside 4mg.
Aceclofenac is a derivative of phenylacetic acid that withholds the participation of Cyclooxygenase compound. Cyclooxygenase is an enzyme that is responsible for the formation of prostanoids including thromboxane and prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are compounds responsible for causing the pain, fever, swelling, and redness. Thus with this mechanism, pain causing factors are eliminated.
Paracetamol (or Acetaminophen) primarily acts as an analgesic and an antipyretic agent. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. It produces its analgesic effects by increasing the pain threshold and antipyresis by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.
Thiocolchocoside is a muscle relaxant which acts by inhibiting the involuntary muscle contractions. Therefore, helps in relaxing the muscles and works during body pains.
