Normaxin MB capsule is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome, gastrointestinal tract spasm. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredient of the Normaxin MB capsule is Mebeverine 200mg.
Mebeverine is an antispasmodic drug. This drug directly acts on the intestinal walls by relaxing them. Therefore, it leads to decreased muscle spasms in the gut, abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, etc.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Normaxin MB capsule. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:
Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow Normaxin MB capsule whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/cut/chew the capsule.
Avoid missing a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Do not consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take the medicine at the prescribed time and dosage.
For children: Talk to your doctor before giving the capsule.
Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

This medication is a musculotropic antispasmodic agent without atropic, prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome, and GI tract spasm.
It works by relaxing the intestinal muscles causing the problem.
t comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with food. Adult: PO- Irritable bowel syndrome; GI tract spasm As HCl: 100 or 135 mg 3 timesday. Extended release 200 mg twice daily. As embonate: 150 mg 3 timesday.
Mebeverine may make you dizzy. Do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
Do not take Mebeverine if you have paralytic ileus (a condition where the small bowel does not work properly).
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Feeling very tired or weak. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very loose stools (diarrhea). Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
