Orofer XT Tablet 30s are used as an iron supplement that is used to prevent anemia, illness, vitamin deficiency, iron deficiency (deficiencies usually due to poor intake through diet). However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Orofer XT Tablet 30s are Ferrous Ascorbate 100mg and Folic Acid 1.5mg.
Ferrous ascorbate is an iron supplement that helps prevent or treat anemia (low blood levels of iron). The ascorbic acid improves the absorbption of iron from the stomach into the body.
Folic acid plays a vital role in the production of DNA other genetic material; and also helps in the synthesis of red blood cells.

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/chew/cut it instead.
Avoid missing/forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take the Orofer XT Tablet 30s at the prescribed time and dosage.
Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, look for any new symptoms. If you observe any, promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.
Take Orofer XT Tablet 30s only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:
May be used during pregnancy. However, consider taking the Orofer XT tablet 30s only if it is suggested by your doctor. Do not decide by yourself and take this medicine.
May be used during lactation. However, inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother before taking the Orofer XT tablet 30s.
Caution always advised when used with other drugs. Therefore, inform your doctor about your current list of medication(s) during the treatment (if any).

GI upset, black stools, abdominal discomfort or pain by oral therapy.

If you have an allergy to this drug, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
