It is also effective in treating pneumonia and peptic ulcers by eliminating a bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori. This medicine is not advised for treating a common cold, flu or other viral infections since it is not effective in treating these infections. This medicine is also given as a first line antibiotic to prevent a wide range of infections caused by bacteria which includes infections of the blood, bones, joints, brain, lower respiratory tract infection and other dental infections. It works best for several infections that are suspected to be caused by bacteria but the type of bacteria is not known. The medicine may be given alone or combination with some other medicines. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Composition

      Composition

Advent 625Mg tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amoxicillin (500Mg) and Clavulanic acid (125Mg)

      Mechanism of Action of Drugs

      Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Advent 625Mg tablet works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial protective covering or cell wall which is fundamental for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, the medicine kills the infection causing bacteria and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment. Clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) re-establishes the activity of amoxycillin against bacteria resistant to amoxicillin.
