      Akbanem tablet is a herbal joint health supplement that is used to treat various bone related disorders. This medicine ensures the cohesion, elasticity and regeneration of all our connective tissues, including ligaments, tendons, cartilage and bones. It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and cardio protective. It is strong and flexible which holds everything together, relieves stiffness in the joints, strengthens various body structures as well the integrity of our skin. It is prescribed for the treatment of joint pains, osteomalacia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, rickets. However, the uses of the tablet mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Akbanem tablet contains essential minerals that work together to maintain bones healthy by controlling proper utilization of calcium in body. Calcium supplements regenerates and maintains mechanical properties of the cartilage and provide strength in load bearing bones, thereby improving flexibility in joints. Boswellin is a resin that prevents the formation of leukotrienes in the body. Leukotrienes are molecules that have been recognised as a cause of inflammation. Natural egg shell membrane stimulates the production of cartilage which leads to joint repair.

      How to Use

      Take Akbanem tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. For better absorption, take the medicine with meals and avoid intake of large amounts of fibre-rich food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. Overdose can lead to hypercalcaemia; extreme hypercalcaemia may lead to coma and death. Irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification may occur as a result of prolonged hypercalcaemia in some patients.       The medicine is passed to infants through mother’s milk. Infants should be closely monitored. Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

      Alcohol:

      Constantly consuming alcohol can negatively impact the absorption of the drug. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.       Driving:

      Foods that are rich in oxalic acid (e.g., spinach) and phytic acid (e.g., whole cereals) may reduce calcium absorption by formation of insoluble calcium salts.
