      How to Use

      Take Alkepin ODT 200Mg tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet may be taken with or without food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor as it has a very high potential of becoming habit-forming. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention.       Kidney:

      Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consuming this tablet.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consuming this medicine. Any symptoms such as nausea, fever, dark urine etc should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Pregnancy:

      Use of this tablet is not advised unless the clinical condition of the patient requires treatment. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as confusion, dizziness, nausea, weakness and fainting. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      The tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Alert your doctor if you are taking Alkepin ODT 200Mg tablet with cisapride, diltiazem, pregabalin, tramadol, quinidine, halofantrine, erythromycin, pimozide, haloperidol, guanfacine, CNS depressants, clonidine, Calcium channel blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, digoxin, lithium, antihypertensives, barbiturates, benzodiazepines.

      What is Clozapine for:

      This medication is an antipsychotic, prescribed for schizophrenia. It changes the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.

      How does Clozapine work:

      Clozapine helps clear thinking. It works on helping social interactions, mood, expression of mood, as well as, delusions, paranoia, and look.

      How should Clozapine be used:

      The initial dose is 12.5 mg two timesday, and the dose is increased by 25–50 mg each day, until the dose reaches 300–450 mg per day. The usual dosage range is 300–600 mg per day. Maximum: 900mgday. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

      Common side effects of Clozapine :

      High blood sugar. This most often goes back to normal when drug is stopped. Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Nervous and excitable. Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help. Talk with your doctor about a stool softener or laxative. Weight gain. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal. Drooling when sleeping. Harm to the heart may rarely happen.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      What precautions should I take when taking Clozapine :

      Alert your doctor if you have any of these conditions. Clozapine may or may not be suitable for you if you have any of these conditions. - bone marrow disease. - low white blood cell count. - epilepsy (fits). - bowel blockage or bowel paralysis (paralytic ileus) which causes severe constipation. - other bowel diseases. - heart, liver or kidney disease. - mental illness caused by alcohol or drug addiction. Alert your doctor if you have taken Clozapine in the past and let him know if Clozapine has ever given you any problems. Clozapine is not suitable for elderly people with psychosis that is related to dementia.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. - Signs of infection. These include a fever of 100.5°F (38°C) or higher, chills, very bad sore throat, ear or sinus pain, cough, more sputum or change in color of sputum, pain with passing urine, mouth sores, wound that will not heal, or anal itching or pain. - Very bad dizziness or passing out. - Trouble breathing. - A fast heartbeat. - Big change in balance. - Very bad headache. - Feeling very tired or weak. - Very bad swelling. - A big weight gain. - More trips to the bathroom, more thirst, or weight loss. - For women, if you get pregnant while taking this drug. - Any rash. - Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Clozapine with other medicines:

      Alert your doctor if you are taking any medicines that may cause bone marrow suppression or a decreased white blood cell count. Some examples of such medicines are cancer medication, antibiotics like chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole and sulfonamides, certain painkillers such as phenylbutazone, and an arthritis medication called penicillamine. There are many other medicines that may lower your white blood cell count or cause bone marrow suppression. Always ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Alert your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines: - sleeping pills such as diazepam, alprazolam or similar. - diabetes medicines - certain heart medicines such as digoxin. - blood-thinners such as warfarin. - mood medicines such as citalopram or risperidone. - medicines that can cause drowsiness such as opioid painkillers (e.g. morphine), antihistamines. - high blood pressure medicines - metoclopramide (medicine used to treat nausea or vomiting). - antibiotics such as norfloxacin or ofloxacin. - omeprazole (gastric medicine) - epilepsy (fits) medicines such as valproic acid, phenytoin or carbamazepine. - certain mood medicines such as lithium. - nicotine-containing products such as cigarettes and anti-smoking patches.
