It acts as a lubricant on the skin’s surface, improves skin texture, moisturizes without clogging the pores and adds suppleness to the skin. It also prevents excess loss of water from the skin surface. It promotes effective healing, soothes red, sensitive and irritated skin. The ingredients used in the lotion leave skin soft and moisturised. It also acts as an antipruritic agent that treats and prevents severe itching of skin due to insect bites and minor irritants. Liquid paraffin acts as a protective barrier by providing a layer of oil on the skin and keeps it moisturised.

What is Calamine for:

This medication is an anti-itch medication that contains mixture of zinc oxide (ZnO) with about 0.5% iron (III) oxide, prescribed for itching skin conditions. This medication in some cases is used as a mild antiseptic to arrest infections caused by scratching the affected area. Calamine is proved to be an effective medication in acne treatment.
