Amifru 40MG tablet is a diuretic or water pill used alone or in combination with other medicines to control oedema and high blood pressure. The tablet prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and allows it to be removed through urine and prevents swelling and oedema in the body. The medicine is also used in treating congestive heart failure characterised by shortness of breath, swollen legs, rapid heartbeat and decrease in the blood flow to the body parts. It also decreases the strains on blood vessels and heart, thereby decreasing high blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart attacks, stroke and kidney problems. Frequent monitoring of electrolytes level and blood pressure is necessary during treatment with this tablet. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Amifru 40MG tablet are Furosemide 40 MG and Amiloride 5MG
Amifru 40MG tablet contains a diuretic that is derived from sulfamoyl anthranilic acid, primarily inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in urine and eliminates excess salt and water by increasing the amount of urine production. It also decreases the strains on blood vessels and heart, thereby decreasing high blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart attacks.

Take Amifru 40MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.

It is best to take this medicine in the morning or before four hours of going to bed as it contains a diuretic and will make you urinate frequently.

Alert your doctor if you are taking Amifru 40MG tablet with dexamethasone Na phosphate, hypokalaemia with K-spring diuretics, cardiac glycosides, lithium, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, amphotericin B, aminoglycoside antibiotics, toxicity with digoxin, NSAIDs, metformin.

These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Alert your doctor if you have signs of high potassium; Very bad dizziness or passing out; Feeling very tired or weak; Very upset stomach or throwing up; For women, period changes; lots of bleeding, spotting, or bleeding between cycles; Any rash or Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
