      Arkapres 100MCG tablet is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat hypertension (elevation of blood pressure caused by genetic or environmental factors). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. It also acts on the nervous system and reduces the hyperactivity disorder in children and also in management of cancer pain. The medicine also is used to prevent migraine and hot flushes in women. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Take Arkapres 100MCG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention.       Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects of the medicine.       What is Clonidine for:

      This medication is an alpha agonist, prescribed for high blood pressure. By decreasing the level of certain chemicals in blood it lowers blood pressure.

      How does Clonidine work:

      Clonidine lowers the bodys release of adrenaline and other hormones that raise blood pressure, heart rate, and anxiety. It works in the brain to ease pain. It has a calming effect in children with attention deficit problems.

      How should Clonidine be used:

      The usual oral adult dose is 0.1�0.3 mg twice daily. The maximum oral dose is 2.4 mg daily. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

      Common side effects of Clonidine :

      Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help.       Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. - Do not change the dose or stop this drug. - Talk with the doctor.

      If you have an allergy to clonidine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had.
