It is effective in treating skin conditions with inflammation and itching such as eczema, dermatitis (redness, pain, rash, itchiness caused by your skin’s reaction to an irritant) and psoriasis (scaly itchy patches which may develop on the elbows, knees, scalp and other body parts). This medicine works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation of the skin. However, the uses of this cream mentioned here are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

Apply Atonide cream as instructed by your doctor. Do not use this cream for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor.
Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount prescribed, even though the symptoms disappear after medicine has begun. Stopping the medication too early can lead to infection relapse.
Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer of this cream 3-4 times daily or as advised by your doctor and gently rub on the affected areas. Avoid getting this cream in contact with open wounds, eyes, mouth and nose. Do not apply this cream immediately before, during, or after activities that increase skin temperature (e.g., heavy exercise, bathing in hot water, sun bathing, swimming) or in hot/humid weather.

Overdosage

Avoid applying the Atonide cream more than required. An overdose is extremely unlikely with this cream since it is only for external use. Internal consumption of medicine leads to harmful side effects. Consult your doctor if you experience any allergic reaction. Symptoms of over dose may include:

This medication is a topical corticosteroid, prescribed for atopic dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and contact dermatitis in both adults and children. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.

Desonide stops or lowers irritation and swelling.

How should Desonide be used:

It should be applied on the affected areas as a thin layer two or three times daily depending on the severity of the condition. It comes as a lotion, gel, cream and ointment to apply topically.

Feeling very tired, weak, or touchy; trembling; having a fast heartbeat, confusion, sweating, or dizziness if you missed a dose or recently stopped this drug. Very bad skin irritation. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
