B Stil 8MG tablet contains Betahistine which is a histamine analogue medicine that is used to treat Meniere’s disease, a disorder in the inner ear that causes vertigo and hearing. Meniere’s disease is characterized by dizziness with a spinning sensation (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), loss of hearing, probably caused by fluid in the ear. It improves the blood flow to the inner ear which reduces the pressure of excess fluid. This tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

How to Use

Take B Stil 8MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
The tablet can be taken with or without food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

Overdosage

Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of B Stil 8MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

Lactation:

This medicine is not considered safe to use in nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Since limited information is available about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

Alcohol:

Interaction of alcohol with this medicine is unknown. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Driving:

The tablet does not usually cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the medicine do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

What is Betahistine for:

This medication is an anti-vertigo agent, prescribed for dizziness (vertigo). It causes vasodilatation in inner ear.

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. Dose is based on patient’s condition. The recommended dose is ½ to 1 tablet (8mg), 4 times per day.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What precautions should I take when taking Betahistine :

If you have an allergy to betahistine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Pheochromocytoma or ulcer disease.

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Feeling very tired or weak. Very bad belly pain. Black, tarry, or bloody stools. Throwing up blood. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
