      Biflace 5ML eye drops contain fluorometholone, a corticosteroid used to treat swelling, itching, pain soreness, and redness of the eye caused due to surgery, injury or allergy. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers, prostaglandins that cause redness and swelling in the eye. This medicine is not suitable for any viral, bacterial or fungal infections. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Take Biflace 5ML eye drops as instructed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose, if you do, take the drops as soon as remember, however if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and use it according to your normal scheduled time.
      Use the exact number of drops recommended by your doctor. Take the dropper close to your without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and instil 1-2 drops in the affected eye or as needed. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back. Wipe off any excess liquid.
      If using any other eye medication, wait for 5 minutes before applying it. Continue to use this medicine until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dose. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after using the drops, promptly seek medical attention. An overdose is extremely unlikely with this Biflace 5ML eye drops since it is only for external use. Internal consumption of medicine leads to harmful side effects.

      What is Fluorometholone for:

      This medication is a corticosteroid, prescribed for the swelling caused by infections, injury, surgery or other conditions.

      How does Fluorometholone work:

      Fluorometholone stops or lowers irritation and swelling.

      How should Fluorometholone be used:

      Adult: Ophthalmic- As 0.1% ointment: Apply half an inch ribbon 1-3 timesday. As 0.1% solution: Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 timesday. May increase dose to 4 hourly in severe cases during the initial 24-48 hour. It comes as eye drops to instill into the affected eyes as directed by your physician.

      Common side effects of Fluorometholone :

      Bad taste in your mouth. More eye pressure. A wound that does not heal.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      If you have an allergy to fluorometholone or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. Feeling very tired, weak, or touchy; trembling; having a fast heartbeat, confusion, sweating, or dizziness if you missed a dose or recently stopped this drug. Sudden change in eyesight, eye pain, or irritation. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Fluorometholone with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
