      Uses and Benefits

      Calcimax Forte tablet, a dietary supplement of multimineral and multivitamin increases bone strength & mineral content and also reduces the chance of fall & fracture. Calcium is needed by the body for healthy bones, nervous system, muscles and heart. It enhances fluid activity at joints that help absorb shock. The tablet helps boost immunity, prevent and manage nutritional deficiencies. It is prescribed for the treatment of joint pains, osteomalacia (softening of bones involving pain), osteoporosis (weak bones due to low bone density), osteoarthritis, rickets (a condition in children involving softening of the bones), hypophosphatemia, hypoparathyroidism (causing low blood calcium). It prevents weakening of the bones and bone disease in people with kidney problems (renal osteodystrophy). However, the uses of the tablet mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Calcimax Forte tablet contains essential minerals and vitamins that work together to help build a stronger immune system and also maintain heart health. Calcium supplements regenerates and maintains mechanical properties of the cartilage and provide strength in load bearing bones, thereby improving flexibility in joints. Elemental magnesium is required for bone mineralization, bone matrix formation and in proper functioning of muscles and nerves. Elemental zinc aids in the absorption of calcium in the body and is needed for the body’s defensive (immune) system to properly work and plays a task in cell growth, cellular division, wound healing, and the breakdown of carbohydrates. Vitamin D3 works by helping the body to use more of the calcium and phosphate found in foods and supplements, supports blood vessel walls and forms a base for teeth and bones.

      • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the tablet

      Calcimax Forte tablet is usually well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. Most side effects are temporary and usually subsides on their own. However, consult your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. You may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      • Musculoskeletal pain (bone, muscle or joint pain)
      • Headache
      • Back pain
      • Skin rashes
      • Nausea
      • Vomiting
      • Dry mouth
      • Constipation
      • Diarrhea
      • Flushing

      Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

      • Anorexia
      • Metallic taste in mouth
      • Difficult urination
      • Cholestatic jaundice
      • Hyperoxaluria
      • Milk alkali syndrome
      How to Use

      How to Use

      Take Calcimax Forte tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. For better absorption, take the medicine with meals and avoid intake of large amounts of fibre-rich food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. Overdose can lead to hypercalcaemia; extreme hypercalcaemia may lead to coma and death. Irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification may occur as a result of prolonged hypercalcaemia in some patients. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Calcimax Forte tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      • Abdominal pain
      • Kidney stones
      • Muscle weakness
      • Bone pain
      • Mental disturbances
      • Cardiac arrhythmias (severe cases)
      • Impaired biliary secretion

      Warnings and Precautions

      Take Calcimax Forte tablet only on the advice of medical practitioner. Dosage adjustments or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consuming this tablet.

      Liver:

      Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this medicine for hepatic patients, consult your doctor if you have hepatic problems and stay on the safe side.

      Pregnancy:

      Use of this tablet is not advised unless the clinical condition of the patient requires treatment. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is passed to infants through mother’s milk. Infants should be closely monitored. Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

      Alcohol:

      Interaction of alcohol with this medicine is unknown. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments of the medicine may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.

      Driving:

      The tablet does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Foods that are rich in oxalic acid (e.g., spinach) and phytic acid (e.g., whole cereals) may reduce calcium absorption by formation of insoluble calcium salts.

      Drug Interactions:

      Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Calcimax Forte with aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin, Naprosyn, thiazide diuretics (decreases urinary excretion of calcium), antacids containing aluminium salts, nelfinavir, digoxin, levothyroxine, antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones), carbamazepine, thiazide diuretics, lithium, verapamil, ceftriaxone.

      Precautions
      • Do not use this medicine past the expiry date
      • Store at room temperature (15-30 degree Celsius)
      • Keep the tablet out of reach of children
