      Candid Lotion 30ml is used as a broad spectrum fungicide used to treat fungal infections of the skin, vagina, groin, candidiasis, athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.



      The active ingredient of Candid Lotion 30ml is Clotrimazole 1% w/w.

      Ergosterol is an essential provitamin that fungi and protozoa cannot survive without. Clotrimazole targets the ergosterol present in the cell membrane of many fungi and protozoa.

      Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professional before using Candid Lotion 30ml:

      • Hypersensitivity to any of the drugs used in the Candid Lotion 30ml such as Clotrimazole

      Side and Adverse Effects

      The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Candid Lotion 30ml. It is generally well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

      • Irritation
      • Contact dermatitis

      Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

      • Stinging
      • Erythema
      How to Use

      How to Use

      Before applying the Candid Lotion 30ml, wash your hands with water and wipe dry.
      Apply only a thin layer of the Candid Lotion 30ml topically on the infected area, and not rub it harshly.
      Wash your hands after applying the cream unless the affected area are the hands itself.
      Contact with eyes may cause burning sensation, therefore ensure you wash hands well after application.
      Try not to skip the dose. If you do, apply it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and apply it according to your normal schedule. Don’t apply two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health and may lead to severe adverse effects.
      Dosage: 2-3 times in a day for 2-4 weeks or as recommended by your doctor/pharmacist.


      Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

      • Irritation
      • Contact dermatitis

      Use the Candid Lotion only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:


      There is no harm through topical application, but it should be used only under the supervision of a physician.


      Consult your doctor if you are a nursing mother because a very small amount of this drug will pass into the mothers’ milk and it is not known whether this drug can harm a breastfeeding infant or not.

      • Strictly for topical use: do not consume the lotion orally.
      • Keep it away from sight and reach of children.
      • Do not apply on the open skin wounds and exfoliative dermatitis.
      • Do not use the medicine beyind its expiry.

      What is Clotrimazole for:

      This medication is an antifungal, prescribed for local fungal infections. This medication prevents fungal growth on the skin.

      How does Clotrimazole work:

      Clotrimazole works to harm the yeast and fight the infection.

      How should Clotrimazole be used:

      Tab- Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 10 mgday for 7 days. Suppository- 100 mgday for 6 days. Solution- Instill 1% solution as directed by your physician. Lotioncreamsolution- Apply 2-3 timesday for 2-4 weeks. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It also comes as a cream, lotion, powder and solution to apply over the skin.

      Common side effects of Clotrimazole :

      Belly pain. - Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Clotrimazole :

      If you have an allergy to clotrimazole or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. If the yeast infection keeps coming back. Very bad belly pain. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Not able to eat. Dark urine or yellow skin or eyes. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Clotrimazole with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.

      Store it at room temperature and keep away from children.
