Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Ergosterol is an essential provitamin that fungi and protozoa cannot survive without. Clotrimazole targets the ergosterol present in the cell membrane of many fungi and protozoa.

Protein synthesis is required for the cell growth and reproduction of bacteria. With its bacteriostatic properties, Clindamycin acts by inhibiting the protein synthesis in the bacteria thus fighting bacteria generation and production.
