Candid Ear Drops have antifungal, anti-infective and antiseptic properties. This medicine is used to treat fungal otitis externa and prophylaxis against otomycosis in swimmers. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Candid Ear Drops 10ml are Clotrimazole 1% and Lignocaine (also known as Lidocaine or Xylocaine) 2%.

Ergosterol is an essential provitamin that fungi and protozoa cannot survive without. Clotrimazole targets the ergosterol present in the cell membrane of many fungi and protozoa.
Lignocaine (also is known as Lidocaine or Xylocaine) is a local anesthetic which works by blocking the pathway of pain signals by withholding the NA movement entering the nerve ending at the site of pain.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of these Candid Ear Drops 10ml. It is generally well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

Wash your hands before and after the application of Candid Ear Drops. Lie down by facing the affected ear upwards, instill the number of drops mentioned in your prescription label, then press the tragus for few seconds so that the drops penetrate into ears, and then wipe off any spilled out solution over the ear lobe.
Try not to skip the dose. If you do, use it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and use it according to your normal schedule. Don’t instill two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your ear and may lead to severe adverse effects.
The usual dosage for Candid Ear Drops 10ml are 4-5 drops in the ear twice or thrice in a day.
Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

Use the drops only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:
It is not known whether this medicine may harm an unborn born or not. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother because it is not known whether this medication may harm a breastfeeding infant or not.
Antagonism with polyene antibiotics.

Category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
This medication is an antifungal, prescribed for local fungal infections. This medication prevents fungal growth on the skin.
Clotrimazole works to harm the yeast and fight the infection.
Tab- Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 10 mgday for 7 days. Suppository- 100 mgday for 6 days. Solution- Instill 1% solution as directed by your physician. Lotioncreamsolution- Apply 2-3 timesday for 2-4 weeks. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It also comes as a cream, lotion, powder and solution to apply over the skin.
Belly pain. - Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
If you have an allergy to clotrimazole or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. If the yeast infection keeps coming back. Very bad belly pain. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Not able to eat. Dark urine or yellow skin or eyes. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Avoid Alcohol
Store it at room temperature and keep away from children.
