Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is used as an antifungal agent for topical application to treat microbial infections or fungal infections of skin, vagina, penis, groin, candidiasis, tinea versicolor. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication is used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm are Beclometasone 0.025% w/w, Clotrimazole 1%w/w and Neomycin 0.5%W/W.
Beclometasone is a corticosteroid which acts by taming cells which release chemicals that triggers inflammation and allergy.
Ergosterol is an essential provitamin that fungi and protozoa cannot survive without. Clotrimazole targets the ergosterol present in the cell membrane of many fungi and protozoa.
And finally, Neomycin is a bacteriostatic (stops the bacterial growth) agent which interferes with bacterial protein synthesis and stops the further growth of bacteria.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Cream. It is generally well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

Before applying the Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm, wash your hands with water and wipe dry.
Apply only a thin layer of the Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm topically on the infected area, and not rub it harshly.
Wash your hands after applying the cream unless the affected area is the hands itself.
Contact with eyes may cause a burning sensation, therefore ensure you wash hands well after application.
Try not to skip the dose. If you do, apply it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and apply it according to your normal schedule. Don’t apply two applications at the same time which is dangerous to your health and may lead to severe adverse effects.
Dosage: 2-3 times in a day for 2-4 weeks or as recommended by your doctor/Pharmacist.
Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:
Use the medicine only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions.
May be used during pregnancy. However, consider using the medicine only if suggested by a doctor.
Safety during lactation is not yet established. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother.
Category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
This medication is an antifungal, prescribed for local fungal infections. This medication prevents fungal growth on the skin.
Clotrimazole works to harm the yeast and fight the infection.
Tab- Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 10 mgday for 7 days. Suppository- 100 mgday for 6 days. Solution- Instill 1% solution as directed by your physician. Lotioncreamsolution- Apply 2-3 timesday for 2-4 weeks. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It also comes as a cream, lotion, powder and solution to apply over the skin.
Belly pain. - Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
If you have an allergy to clotrimazole or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. If the yeast infection keeps coming back. Very bad belly pain. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Not able to eat. Dark urine or yellow skin or eyes. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Avoid Alcohol
Store it at room temperature and keep away from children.
Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
