      Cb-Lin 0.5MG tablet is used in the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, a condition where there is an excess production of prolactin due to unknown causes or abnormal growths in the pituitary which may cause infertility, sexual problems, or bone loss in men and women who are not breastfeeding. This medicine is also used as a second line therapy in the treatment of signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease as an adjunct to carbidopa-levodopa or as a single agent in case of failure of intolerance to a non-ergot compound. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Cabergoline is a long-acting dopamine receptor agonist that works by decreasing the amount of prolactin (hormone that stimulates breast milk production) in the body by blocking the excess production from the pituitary gland.       How to Use

      Take Cb-Lin 0.5MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet should be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body preferably at bedtime.
      Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Cb-Lin 0.5MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. Any symptoms such as nausea, fever, dark urine etc should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Pregnancy:

      Cb-Lin 0.5MG tablet should be used with caution during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as seizures, fainting, dizziness, mood and behavioural changes. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      The tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      There are no known food interactions with this medicine.

      Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Cb-Lin 0.5MG tablet with levodopa, macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin), metoclopramide, phenothiazines, antihypertensives.
