      Cidmus 50MG tablet is a combination medicine used alone or in combination with other medicines for the prevention of cardiac symptoms in patients suffering from chronic heart failure and reduced ejection fraction. This medicine reduces the risk of hospitalization and death associated with heart failure in cardiac patients. It treats heart failure by relaxing the blood vessels and makes easier for heart to pump blood throughout the body. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Sacubitril belongs to a class of angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor (ANRI) that works by suppressing an enzyme called neprilysin, which degrades specific substances necessary for lowering the blood pressure in the body. Valsartan works by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels and facilitates smooth blood flow and also helps your body retain less water.

      How to Use

      Take Cidmus 50MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      Cidmus 50MG tablet may be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, you could take it with food. Most recommended dose is one tablet per day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Cidmus 50MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      • Marked hypotension
      • Tachycardia or bradycardia
      • Depressed level of consciousness
      • Circulatory collapse
      • Cardiogenic shock

      Use this tablet only on the advice of medical practitioner. Dose adjustments or complete avoidance of the Cidmus 50MG tablet may be required in the following conditions:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this tablet.

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases.

      Pregnancy:

      Cidmus 50MG tablet might be risky to use during pregnancy as it is known to cause harm to the fetus. However, in some life-threatening situations, doctors may rarely prescribe if the benefits are more than the potential risks. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with Cidmus 50MG tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects and causes extreme drowsiness, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      The tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, so do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Potassium supplements (bananas, grape fruits) or potassium containing salt substitutes should be avoided while taking this medicine.

      Drug Interactions:

      All medicines interact differently for person to person. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Cidmus 50MG tablet with aliskiren, spironolactone, amiloride, heparin, ciclosporin, ritonavir, rifampicin, aspirin, ACE inhibitors, warfarin, dexamethasone.

      What is Valsartan for:

      This medication is an angiotensin II receptor blocker, prescribed for hypertension, congestive heart failure and myocardial infarction (heart attack). It works by relaxing the blood vessels.

      How does Valsartan work:

      Valsartan lowers blood pressure by lowering a strong chemical in the body. It helps the heart work better.

      How should Valsartan be used:

      It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food. Adult: PO HTN Initial: 80 mg once daily, up to 160 mg once daily. Max: 320 mgday. Post-MI Initial: 20 mg twice daily, up to 160 mg bid if tolerated.

      Common side effects of Valsartan :

      High potassium level. Signs include feeling weak, lightheaded, dizzy, feel like passing out, or have numbness or tingling. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Cough. Belly pain. Back pain. Loose stools (diarrhea). Feeling tired or weak. Kidney function that gets worse.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      What precautions should I take when taking Valsartan :

      If you have an allergy to valsartan or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have high blood sugar (diabetes) and are taking aliskiren. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant. If you are breast-feeding.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Very bad headache. Signs of high potassium. Cough that does not go away. Too much sweat, fluid loss, throwing up, or loose stools. May lead to low blood pressure. A big weight gain. Swelling in your legs or belly. For women, if you get pregnant while taking this drug. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Valsartan with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
