Cilaheart T 40MG tablet is a combination medicine used to treat hypertension (elevation of blood pressure caused by genetic or environmental factors), prevents angina (heart related chest pain), and other heart complications. The medicine works by slowing down the activity of your heart allowing it to beat slower and less forcefully and also relaxes the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. This medicine is used with a proper healthy diet and exercise program to control high blood pressure for best possible effects. It is not recommended as initial therapy for patients with high blood pressure. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

Telmisartan, angiotensin II receptor blocker and Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker together works by normalizing the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. It prevents the entry of calcium from entering into the muscles, leading to muscle relaxation. The combination is thus effective in reducing blood pressure.

How to Use

How to Use

Take Cilaheart T 40MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
Cilaheart T 40MG tablet should be taken with food. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to overcome muscle weakness and extreme thirst. The tablet is usually taken not more than once a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

Overdosage

Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Cilaheart T 40MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Severe hypotension
  • Shock
  • Excessive peripheral vasodilation

  • Elevated serum creatinine

Kidney:

Extreme caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the taking this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment.

Liver:

Caution is advised among people with hepatic problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while taking this tablet. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

Pregnancy:

Cilaheart T 40MG might be risky to use during pregnancy as it is known to cause harm to the fetus. However, in some life-threatening situations, doctors may rarely prescribe if the benefits are more than the potential risks. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

Lactation:

The medicine is unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

Alcohol:

Consumption of alcohol with Cilaheart T 40MG tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as difficulty in concentration, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Driving:

The tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Food:

Avoid high potassium diet and grape fruit juice as it may alter serum levels of the tablet

Drug Interactions:

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Cilaheart T 40MG tablet with aliskiren, furosemide, potassium containing salt substituents, ACE inhibitors, spironolactone, ciclosporin, tacrolimus, trimethoprim, insulin, carbamazepine, itraconazole, rifampicin, captopril, diltiazem, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, heparin.
