      Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Cloben G cream is a combination medicine, used to treat fungal and bacterial infections. Beclometasone is a steroid which works by blocking the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that cause pain and make red, swollen and itchy. Neomycin is an antibiotic that involves in inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S ribosomes, eventually killing the bacteria by damaging DNA.
Clotrimazole is an anti-fungal drug that changes the permeability of the cell wall of the fungal cells and prevents their growth. It binds to the phospholipids of the membrane and inhibits the fungal CYP450 activity, thereby decreasing ergosterol biosynthesis that are essential for the development of the cell membrane.
