      Colimex 30ML syrup is an antispasmodic medicine used to relieve sharp and localized pain called colicky pains like intestinal colic, biliary colic and ureteric colic. Colicky pain starts and stops abruptly mainly due to muscle contractions of hollow organs such as intestines, rectum, gallbladder and ureter due to obstruction by forcing content out. It is also effective in relieving stomach and intestinal cramping associated with gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, enterocolitis, diarrhea, constipation etc. It prevents sudden spasm of muscles to relieve cramps and stomach pain. The syrup is also used in treating peptic ulcer disease characterized by nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, bloating, burning stomach pain. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Take Colimex 30ML syrup as instructed by your doctor. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The syrup can be taken with or without food. Take the syrup at the same time as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      What is Dicyclomine for:

      This medication is an anticholinergic, prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome. It blocks a chemical in the smooth muscle of the stomach and intestines.

      How does Dicyclomine work:

      Dicyclomine slows movement in the GI (gastrointestinal) tract, lowering the number of spasms.

      How should Dicyclomine be used:

      Adult: PO- 10-20 mg 3 timesday. IM- 20 mg 4 timesday for 1-2 days. Replace with oral therapy as soon as possible. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth with or without food.

      Common side effects of Dicyclomine :

      Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help. Talk with your doctor about a stool softener or laxative. - Dry mouth. Good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. See a dentist often.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Dicyclomine :

      Do not give this drug to an infant younger than 6 months of age. If you have an allergy to dicyclomine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Enlarged prostate, glaucoma, bowel block, myasthenia gravis, or trouble passing urine. If you are breast-feeding.

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Not able to pass urine. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
