Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg is used to treat angina pectoris, hypertension, chronic heart failure. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredient of Concor-Cor Tablet 2.5mg is Bisoprolol 2.5mg.
Bisoprolol is a beta-blocker that acts by blocking beta receptors present in the heart and makes the heart to beat slowly and less forcefully. Thus how reduces pressure while blood is pumping out of the heart and around the body. Hence, helps in reducing blood pressure.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:
Swallow the Concor-Cor Tablet 2.5mg immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or chew the Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg.
Avoid missing/forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take the Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg with or without food.
Take the medication at the prescribed time and dosage.
Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience any one or more of the following signs or symptoms:
Take the Concor-Cor table 2.5mg only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:
Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of this Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg.
Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of this Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg.
Caution advised during this period especially in the last 2 trimesters. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment.
Safety during lactation is unknown. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking the Concor-Cor tablet 2.5mg.
Caution always advised when used with other drugs. Therefore, inform your doctor if you start or stop using any medication(s) during the treatment.
Category C:Â Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
This medication is a beta- blocker, prescribed for heart disease. It relaxes blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve and decrease blood pressure.
Bisoprolol blocks chemicals that fire up the heart and blood vessels.
It comes in the form of tablet, to be taken with or without food. Adult: Angina pectoris; HTN- 2.5-10 mgday. Max: 20 mgday. Heart failure- Initial: 1.25 mg once daily may increase gradually. Max: 10 mgday.
Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. - Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
Bisoprolol may not be suitable for certain heart conditions. Alert your doctor if you suffer from any heart conditions.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Trouble breathing. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Alert your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially those listed here: - other medicines for high blood pressure or heart disease, especially clonidine, prazosin. - migraine medicines such as ergotamine. - rifampicin (a TB medicine). - Do not take antacids together with Bisoprolol. Antacids may affect the effectiveness of Bisoprolol. If you must take antacids, take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after you take Bisoprolol. - Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid Alcohol
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
