How to Use

How to Use

Corbis 5mg Tab can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take this medicine at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medicine at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
Take this medicine as soon as you have taken it out of the packet as It is sensitive to light and therefore may not work optimally if it is left out of the pack for a long time.
Bear in mind that it takes a few weeks for it to work so you need to take it regularly even if you feel it is not doing you any good. You must keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.
It should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

What is Bisoprolol for:

This medication is a beta- blocker, prescribed for heart disease. It relaxes blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve and decrease blood pressure.

How does Bisoprolol work:

Bisoprolol blocks chemicals that fire up the heart and blood vessels.

How should Bisoprolol be used:

It comes in the form of tablet, to be taken with or without food. Adult: Angina pectoris; HTN- 2.5-10 mgday. Max: 20 mgday. Heart failure- Initial: 1.25 mg once daily may increase gradually. Max: 10 mgday.

Common side effects of Bisoprolol :

Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. - Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What precautions should I take when taking Bisoprolol :

Bisoprolol may not be suitable for certain heart conditions. Alert your doctor if you suffer from any heart conditions.

When do I need to seek medical help

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Trouble breathing. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

Can I take Bisoprolol with other medicines:

Alert your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially those listed here: - other medicines for high blood pressure or heart disease, especially clonidine, prazosin. - migraine medicines such as ergotamine. - rifampicin (a TB medicine). - Do not take antacids together with Bisoprolol. Antacids may affect the effectiveness of Bisoprolol. If you must take antacids, take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after you take Bisoprolol. - Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
