      Corbis H 5Mg tablet is a combination medicine used to treat hypertension (elevation of blood pressure caused by genetic or environmental factors) and other heart complications. The medicine works by slowing down the activity of your heart allowing it to beat slower and less forcefully and also relaxes the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. Frequent monitoring of electrolytes level and blood pressure is necessary during treatment with this tablet. This medicine is used with a proper healthy diet and exercise program to control high blood pressure for best possible effects. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Bisoprolol, a long-acting beta-blocker, blocks beta receptors that works by slowing down the activity of your heart allowing it to beat slower and less forcefully. It also normalizes the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes excess sodium and water from the body through urine. The combination is thus effective in reducing blood pressure.

      Take Corbis H 5Mg tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet may be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention.       Kidney:

      Extreme caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the taking this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment.

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with hepatic problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while taking this tablet. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Pregnancy:

      Corbis H 5Mg might be risky to use during pregnancy as it is known to cause harm to the fetus. However, in some life-threatening situations, doctors may rarely prescribe if the benefits are more than the potential risks. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Driving:

      Food:

      Avoid grape fruit juice as it may alter serum levels.

      How should Bisoprolol be used:

      It comes in the form of tablet, to be taken with or without food. Adult: Angina pectoris; HTN- 2.5-10 mgday. Max: 20 mgday. Heart failure- Initial: 1.25 mg once daily may increase gradually. Max: 10 mgday.

      Common side effects of Bisoprolol :

      Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. - Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Bisoprolol :

      Bisoprolol may not be suitable for certain heart conditions. Alert your doctor if you suffer from any heart conditions.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Trouble breathing. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Bisoprolol with other medicines:

      Alert your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially those listed here: - other medicines for high blood pressure or heart disease, especially clonidine, prazosin. - migraine medicines such as ergotamine. - rifampicin (a TB medicine). - Do not take antacids together with Bisoprolol. Antacids may affect the effectiveness of Bisoprolol. If you must take antacids, take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after you take Bisoprolol. - Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
