      Corectia tablet, enriched with D-chiro-inositol, myo-inositol, chromium and vitamin D3 is used as a nutritional supplement for women. It is used for treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pregnancy and conceiving issues, weight issues in women, management of low plasma and low red blood cell folate in certain patients, vitamin D deficiency. It also improves insulin resistance and corrects hormonal imbalance. It is beneficial to improve ovulation, decrease the ovulation period and normalizes menstruation cycle. However, the uses of the tablet mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Corectia tablet works by decreasing serum testosterone and increases insulin sensitivity simultaneously; provides body with folate and increases absorption of phosphorous and calcium from food required for strong bones. Inositol balances certain chemicals in the body and makes insulin work better, thereby helping in nerve problems caused by diabetes, panic disorder, depression, polycystic ovary syndrome. N-Acetylcysteine helps in treating infertility.

      How to Use

      Take Corectia tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. For better absorption, take the medicine with meals and avoid intake of large amounts of fibre-rich food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. Overdose can lead to hypercalcaemia; extreme hypercalcaemia may lead to coma and death. Irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification may occur as a result of prolonged hypercalcaemia in some patients. Depending on the dosage of Corectia tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consuming this tablet.

      Liver:

      Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this medicine for hepatic patients, consult your doctor if you have hepatic problems and stay on the safe side.

      Pregnancy:

      Use of this tablet is not advised unless the clinical condition of the patient requires treatment. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is passed to infants through mother’s milk. Infants should be closely monitored. Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

      Alcohol:

      Interaction of alcohol with this medicine is unknown. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments of the medicine may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.

      Driving:

      The tablet does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Drug Interactions:

      Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Corectia with aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin, Naprosyn, thiazide diuretics (decreases urinary excretion of calcium), antacids containing aluminium salts, paraffin oil, actinomycin, levothyroxine, antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones), carbamazepine, thiazide diuretics, lithium, ceftriaxone.
