      Corex T cough 100ML syrup is a combination medicine used to relieve dry cough (or non-productive cough where phlegm or mucus in not produced) and symptoms of common cold associated with fever, which includes stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, congestion. It predominantly relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, breathing difficulties, coughing, nasal congestion, etc. caused by bronchospasm. This medicine works by reducing the activity of cough centre in brain. However, the uses of the syrup mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the medicine may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consuming this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe liver impairment.

      Pregnancy:

      This syrup should be used with caution during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      This medication is a narcotic analgesic, prescribed for pain and cough. It is also used for diarrhea.

      How does Codeine Phosphate work:

      Codeine lowers the feeling of pain and how one reacts to pain. It works on the cough center in the brain.

      How should Codeine Phosphate be used:

      Adult: PO- Pain- 30-60 mg 4 hourly. Max: 240 mgday. Cough suppressant- 15-30 mg 3-4 timesday. Max: 240 mgday. Acute diarrhea- 30 mg 3-4 timesday. IVIMSC- Pain- 30-60 mg 4 hourly. Max: 240 mgday. It comes as syrup to take by mouth, with or without food.

      Common side effects of Codeine Phosphate :

      Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help. Talk with your doctor about a stool softener or laxative.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. - Many times this drug is taken on an as needed basis.

      If you have an allergy to codeine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Bowel block or very bad lung disease.

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out.
