Mefenamic Acid acts by restraining cyclooxygenase, an enzyme responsible for formation of prostanoids. Prostanoids consist of prostaglandins and prostaglandins are responsible for inflammation and anaphylactic reactions. Thus reducing inflammation and pain.
Dicyclomine (or Dicycloverine) is an anticholinergic drug that reduces muscle spasms in gastrointestinal tract through a process of nonselective smooth muscle relaxation. An anticholinergic agent is basically a substance which blocks the neurotransmitter acetycholine in both central and peripheral nervous systems.
