      Dexorange syrup 200ml is a combination of two medicines. It consists of both vitamin and iron supplements to treat vitamin and iron deficiency to prevent low blood levels of iron or decreased hemoglobin levels. The syrup is also used to treat anemia and during pregnancy. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctors discretion.

      The active ingredients of Dexorange Syrup 200ml are Cyanocobalamin 7.5mcg, Ferrous Ammonium Citrate 160mg, Folic Acid 0.5mg/10ml.

      Cyanocobalamin is an OTC medicine, artificially synthesized form of vitamin B12 to treat vitamin B12 deficiency.
      Ferrous Ammonium Citrate is used to treat anemia.
      Folic acid plays a vital role in making DNA and other genetic material and the synthesis of red blood cells.

      The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this syrup. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

      • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the syrup such as Cyanocobalamin, Cobalt, Ferrous Ammonium Citrate, Folic Acid.

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
      Dexorange Syrup 200ml is meant for oral administration. Shake the bottle well before consuming. Dosage can be administered with the cap that comes along with the container.
      Avoid missing a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      Take Dexorange syrup 200ml with or without food.
      Dosage as suggested by your doctor or follow the instructions given on the prescription.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

      • Leukopenia
      • Neutropenia
      • Anemia
      • GI ulcer

      Take the medicine only on the advkice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Kidney:

      Talk to your doctor once if you have any renal problems before taking Dexorange Syrup 200ml.

      Liver:

      Talk to your doctor once if you have any hepatic problems before taking the Dexorange Syrup.

      Pregnancy:

      Do not take Dexorange Syrup 200ml without doctors advise.

      Lactation:

      Talk to your doctor once before taking the syrup since this drug may pass into breast milk and it is not known whether this medicine may harm an infant or not.

      Drug Interactions:

      Caution always advised when used with other medicines like herbal and other OTC drugs. Therefore, inform your doctor about all your current list of medication which you start or stop.

      • Store at room temperature protected from heat and moisture.

      What is cyanocobalamin for:

      This medication is a vitamer (varied chemical substances) of vitamin B12, used in treating anemia, folic acid deficiency, neuropathies (damage in the nerves of peripheral nervous system), prophylaxis, and psychiatric disorders. Recommended for patients with the condition of pancreatic tumor.

      How does cyanocobalamin work:

      It is an essential nutrient that helps the body make healthy red blood and nerve cells.

      How should cyanocobalamin be used:

      Adult: IM- 250-1,000 mcg on alternate days for 1-2 week, then 250 mcg weekly. Maintenance: 1,000-mcg monthly. It comes as a solution (liquid) to be injected into the muscle or under the skin, without food.

      Common side effects of cyanocobalamin :

      Headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, skin rash, hot flushes

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking cyanocobalamin :

      Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      Seek help if you have signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Swelling, warmth, or pain in the leg or arm. Talk to your doctor if you have very loose stools (diarrhea), are feeling very tired or weak, have a rash.

      Can I take cyanocobalamin with other medicines:

      Use with neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, cimetidine and cochicine will decrease absorption. Inform doctor about all other drugs you are taking including herbals.

      Are there any food restrictions

      Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.

      How do I store cyanocobalamin :

      Normally stored by healthcare providers in room temperature in vertical position.
