      Doxiflo M tablet is a combination medicine approved for symptomatic treatment in patients with allergic disorders such as rhino-conjunctivitis, urticaria and in asthma prevention. This medicine is used in the treatment of various allergic conditions such as wheezing, congestion, watery eyes, runny nose, stuffy nose, coughing and sneezing. It is also used to treat or prevent bronchospasm during exercise in adolescents and adults. The medicine is mainly used as maintenance therapy. It prevents the onset of asthma attack if taken before exercise or exposure to triggers which include dust, pets, pollen, cigarette smoke. By blocking certain chemical messengers in the body, the medicine reduces itching, rashes, inflammation in airways and makes breathing easier. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Doxofylline is a bronchodilator that relaxes and widens the smooth muscles of the airways in the lungs. It also reduces lung’s sensitivity to allergens that cause inflammation and tightens the muscle in the chest and lungs. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, thereby reducing itching and inflammation in the airways to stop asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Take Doxiflo M tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Doxiflo M tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among patients with kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this tablet.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the medicine may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Pregnancy:

      It is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown no or low adverse effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consumption of this medicine.

      Lactation:

      This medicine is highly unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass through the breastmilk and represents significant risk to the baby.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this medicine is not recommended as it increases side effects of the medicine. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, report to your doctor immediately. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments of the medicine may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.

      Driving:

      This medicine may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, fatigue. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Foods and beverages containing caffeine should be avoided while taking this tablet.

      Drug Interactions:

      Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Doxiflo M tablet with cimetidine, allopurinol, erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, phenytoin, salbutamol, propranolol, rifamycin antibiotics (rifampicin, rifabutin), fluconazole.
