Eliquis 2.5MG tablet is an oral anticoagulant used to prevent the blood from clotting. This medicine is prescribed in deep vein thrombosis (blood clot formation in legs), pulmonary embolism (blood clot in lung), prophylaxis for myocardial infarction (prevent clot formation in vessels that supply blood to heart) and in prevention of thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat). Close monitoring of the kidney and liver function is necessary while receiving this medicine due to increase in the risk of bleeding. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

How to Use

Take Eliquis 2.5MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
This tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. The tablet is usually taken not more than once a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

Overdosage

Avoid taking more than the recommended dosage. In case of accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage of Eliquis 2.5MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

Lactation:

The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

Alcohol:
