      Fefol Z capsule is an anti-anaemic medication used in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia and anaemia due to chronic kidney disease. The medicine regulates your levels of red blood cells and reduce the symptoms of anaemia such as weakness and tiredness and also helps in the transportation of oxygen throughout the body. It is used in treating iron deficiency due to poor absorption of iron from the foods and chronic blood loss. This capsule is also used to treat anaemia during pregnancy and lactation. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Elemental iron replenishes the iron stores in the body and plays an important role in the formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. Folic acid help in lowering elevated homocysteine levels linked to pregnancy complications and also plays a key role in helping the body make red blood cells, thus helps in treating anaemias. Elemental zinc aids in the absorption of calcium in the body. It is needed for the body’s defensive (immune) system to properly work and plays a task in cell growth, cellular division, wound healing, and the breakdown of carbohydrates.

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Take Fefol Z capsule as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the capsule.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The capsule should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals as the food may reduce the absorption of the medicine. Take the capsule at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the capsule, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Fefol Z capsule, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Liver:

      This capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Pregnancy:

      Use of Fefol Z capsule in pregnancy is generally acceptable when taken in prescribed dose. Since the effect of the medicine on fetus is not clearly established, we recommend you to consult your doctor before consuming the capsule.

      Lactation:

      Since limited reliable information is available about the safety of taking this capsule, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

      Alcohol:

      Excessive alcohol consumption may increase the elimination and reduce the absorption of the active ingredients in the capsule. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments the medicine may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.

      Driving:

      The capsule does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the capsule, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Foods such as cereals, high fibre foods, eggs, milk, tea, coffee should be avoided near the time that you take this medicine.

      Drug Interactions:

      Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Fefol Z capsule with tetracyclines, fluroquinolones (ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin), calcium and magnesium supplements, antacids, dimercaprol, chloramphenicol, levodopa.
