Fenodol Plus tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of fever, pain and inflammation associated with muscle spasm. It is used in moderate to severe pain relief, treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, spondylitis, osteoarthritis and in conditions such as headaches, body aches, tooth aches, menstrual pain and common cold. The tablet effectively relieves muscle stiffness, thereby improving muscle movement. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

How to Use

Take Fenodol Plus tablet as instructed by your health care professional. Do not use this pill for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take the tablet as soon as remember, but it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and take it according to your normal scheduled time. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.
Fenodol Plus tablet should be taken with food or immediately after meals. The tablet is usually taken not more than 3-4 times a day.

Overdosage

Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Fenodol Plus tab, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Pallor
  • Nausea
  • Anorexia
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Hypoglycaemia
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Drowsiness
  • Irregular breathing
  • Nephrotoxicity
  • Liver damage
  • Cerebral oedema

Use this tablet on the advice of medical practitioner. Dose adjustments or complete avoidance of the Fenodol Plus tablet may be required in the following conditions:

Kidney:

Caution is advised among people with kidney problems. Adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

Liver:

Extreme caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the Fenodol Plus tab may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. Any symptoms such as nausea, fever, dark urine etc should be reported to your doctor immediately. However, use of this tablet is not suggested in patients with severe liver diseases.

Pregnancy:

Fenodol Plus tablet is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

Lactation:

This medicine is not considered safe to use in nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Since limited information is available about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

Alcohol:

Consumption of alcohol with Fenodol Plus tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects of the medicine such as risk of liver injuries, gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, light headedness. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, report to your doctor immediately.

Driving:

Fenodol Plus tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Food:

Avoid grape fruit juice and alcohol as they may alter serum levels.

Drug Interactions:

Alert your doctor if you are taking Fenodol Plus tab with any of the below medicines:
Isoniazid
Cholestyramine
Metoclopramide
Lithium and digoxin
Ramipril
Prednisolone
Methotrexate
Carbamazepine, barbiturates, hydantoins
Adefovir
Warfarin
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

Precautions

How should Aceclofenac be used:

To gain the most benefit, take the medicine daily or as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken twice a day. Take it with food.

Common side effects of Aceclofenac :

Indigestion, heartburn, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain and flatulence.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Many times this drug is taken on an as needed basis.

What precautions should I take when taking Aceclofenac :

Inform your doctor is you suffer from history of peptic ulceration, cerebrovascular bleeding, ulcerative colitis, crohns disease, systemic lupus erythmatosus, porphyria, haematopoietic or coagulation disorders. The dose will be adjusted in people with hepatic, renal or cardiac function impairment.

When do I need to seek medical help

Do not take the drug if you had an allergic reaction to the medication in the past. Stop taking this drug and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; rash; wheezing; itching; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).

Can I take Aceclofenac with other medicines:

Inform you doctor is you are taking lithium, digoxin, diuretics or ACE inhibitors. Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
