Fexona Tablet 180mg is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredient of Fexona Tablet 180mg is Fexofenadine 180mg.
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine which acts by blocking histamines. Histamines are released during allergic reactions. Hence, by blocking these, Fexofenadine reduces allergies.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of Fexona Tablet 180mg. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the Fexona Tablet 180mg whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/crush/chew it instead.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take the Fexona Tablet 180mg on an empty stomach. If you are in a habit of taking tablets with fruit juice, then don’t do it in this case. Mixing this tablet with fruit juice is not recommended.
Take the medicine at the prescribed time and dosage.
Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:
Take Fexona Tablet 180mg only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:
Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of Fexona Tablet 180mg.
Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of Fexona Tablet 180mg.
Safety during pregnancy is unknown. Therefore, if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment, inform your doctor before consumption of this medicine.
Safety during lactation has not yet established. Therefore, if you are a nursing mother, inform your doctor about the same before consuming this medicine.
Do not take the medicine with fruit juices such as apple, orange, and grape, these may make your body harder to absorb the drug.
Caution always advised when used with other drugs. Therefore, inform your doctor about your current list of medications (if any) during the treatment. Especially, avoid consuming an antacid within 2 hours before or after you take the Fexona Tablet 180mg because it makes your body tough to absorb the drug.
Category C:Â Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
This medication is an antihistamine, prescribed for seasonal allergic reactions such as runny nose, sneezing, red, itchy, or watery eyes; itching. It blocks histamines action, which reduces allergy symptoms.
Fexofenadine lowers or stops the bodys reaction to the allergen.
Adults: The recommended dose is 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once daily with water. Children 6 to 11 Years: The recommended dose is 30 mg twice daily with water. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with water.
Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. - Headache.
Use a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Many times this drug is taken on an as needed basis
If you have an allergy to fexofenadine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Avoid Alcohol
Store it at room temperature and in an airtight container.
