      Finestop 1MG tablet is used in men to relieve the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) such as painful urination, difficulty in passing urine and urinary urgency or frequency. It is also used to treat common hereditary hair loss and androgenetic hair loss in males (male-pattern baldness). This medicine is not recommended for use if the hair loss is due to any other cause and in women. It increases blood flow to hair follicles on your scalp and enhances new hair growth. This medicine is most effective for baldness or thinning at the top of the scalp and less effective for receding hairline. Finasteride may affect the ejaculation even after stopping the treatment and you may need several days to recover. However, the uses of the medicine mentioned here are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

      Finasteride is an alpha blocker that works by relaxing the muscles of the prostate gland and bladder and relieves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. This helps to fully drain the bladder and reduces the need to pass urine frequently and urgently in people with Benign prostate hyperplasia. It blocks the production of male hormone (dihydrotesterone, which stops hair growth), in hair follicles of the scalp, thereby preventing hair loss and reverse the balding process

      Finestop 1MG tablet is usually well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. Most side effects are temporary and usually subsides on their own. However, consult your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. You may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      How to Use

      Take Finestop 1MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested. even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking Finestop 1MG tablet more than the prescribed dosage. There were no reports of overdose during the clinical development program for this medicine. In case of an accidental overdose of the medicine, promptly ask for medical advice. Depending on the dosage of the tablet, symptoms may vary in individuals, you may experience the following signs or symptoms:

      • Swelling of face and lips
      • Weight gain
      • Depressed mood
      • Rash
      • Breast tenderness and enlargement

      Liver:

      Pregnancy:

      This tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women.

      Lactation:

      This tablet is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

      Alcohol:

      Interaction of alcohol with this medicine is unknown. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      This medicine does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the medicine, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Drug Interactions:

Alert your doctor if you are taking Finestop 1MG tablet along with diltiazem, ketoconazole, nelfinavir, diclofenac, warfarin, furosemide, erythromycin.

      What is Finasteride for:

      This medication is a synthetic antiandrogen, prescribed for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate cancer, and hair loss. It prevents testosterone conversion in to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body.

      How does Finasteride work:

      Finasteride lowers prostate growth by lowering testosterone levels. It helps hair regrowth and slows hair loss.

      How should Finasteride be used:

      PO- The recommended dose is 5 mg orally once a day. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

      Common side effects of Finasteride :

      Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal. A fast growing prostate cancer may rarely happen.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      What precautions should I take when taking Finasteride :

      Finasteride must not be taken by children or women. - Alert your doctor if you ever had prostate cancer. - Do not donate blood while being treated with Finasteride.

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. A lump in the breast, breast soreness, or nipple discharge. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
