Glynase MF tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medication used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. The active ingredients of Glynase MF are Glipizide (5Mg) and Metformin (500Mg)
Glipizide works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones (glucagon) that raise blood glucose levels thereby reducing the fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. The combination is thus better effective in lowering blood glucose levels.
