Imdur Tablet 30mg is used in the management of angina (chest pain), heart failure, hypertension, and myocardial infarction. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredient of Imdur Tablet 30mg is Isosorbide Mononitrate 30mg.
Belonging to the nitrates group, Isosorbide Mononitrate acts by relaxing the blood vessels and improving the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Thus, helps in reducing pressure of functioning on the heart and chest regions. The drug thereby helps to prevent angina attacks.

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Imdur Tablet 30mg. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/cut/chew it instead.
Avoid missing/forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Imdur Tablet 30mg should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food.
Take the medication at the prescribed time and dosage.
Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

May be used during pregnancy. However, consider taking the Indur tablet 30mg only if it suggested by your doctor.
Safety during lactation is unknown. Therefore, if you are a breastfeeding mother, inform your doctor of the same before taking the medicines.
With alcohol and vasodilators-Hypotensive effects may be increased.
Concurrent use with calcium channel blockers may lead to noticeable orthostatic hypotension.
When used with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors – Significant hypotension may occur. Therefore, always inform your doctor about the current list of medication(s) during the treatment (if any).
Category B:Â Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
It is used to stop or treat chest pain or pressure.
Isosorbide calms blood vessels.
Take with a full glass of water. Long-acting products: Swallow whole. Do not chew or crush.
Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Flushing. Wearing layers of clothes or summer clothes and staying in cool places may help. Headache. Most of the time it gets better after taking this drug for a week.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.
If you have an allergy to isosorbide mononitrate or any other part of this drug. - Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Chest pain or pressure lasting more than 15 minutes. Get emergency medical care right away. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Very bad headache. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Avoid Alcohol
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
