Intafol Tab is a dietary supplement used to increase the amount of calcium which is very important for healthy bones, nervous system, muscles and heart. Intafol Tab is also used to treat conditions such as osteocalcin, osteoporosis, hypoparathyroidism, and latent tetany.  However, the uses mentioned here may not be exhaustive. Intafol Tab helps your muscles, nerves, and cells work optimally, ensures maturation of RBC, aids better absorption of calcium and phosphorus, stimulates production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter which is responsible for enhancement of mood and also protects the brain from damage against excitotoxins.

How to Use

How to Use

Intafol Tab can be taken with food. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take it at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.

Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.

Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Intafol Tab should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

Overdosage

Signs and symptoms MAY BE NOTED in case of an overdosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions in your body after taking this tab, contact your doctor immediately. It is best to avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage of this medicine. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary from individual to individual. Kidney:

This medicine may make it hard for your kidneys to perform essential tasks like getting rid of waste from the body, keeping your blood pressure steady, making red blood cells. Also, if your kidneys are already damaged, be sure to tell your doctor.

Liver:

safe to use in case of any liver ailment/disorder? This medicine is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease. There might be slight/mild side-effects on patients with liver ailments. The limited data available suggests that adjustments of doses of this medication may not be needed in these patients. It is advisable to consult your doctor and let him/her know in advance if you have any ailments related to the liver before using this medicine.

Pregnancy:

safe to use in pregnant women? This medicine may be unsafe for pregnant women. Although only limited studies have been carried out in humans, studies done on animals have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. This medicine is a powerful medicine and therefore, it should be taken by pregnant women only when recommended by the physician. Lactation:

safe to use in breastfeeding women? This medicine may be unsafe and may lead to serious and adverse side effects if you are breastfeeding. This tablet should not be taken unless your doctor says it is necessary to use during breastfeeding. Studies have shown that a small amount of the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. Whether this medicine may be used by a breast-feeding mother should be decided by the doctor.

Alcohol:

is it okay to consume alcohol during the use of this medicine? Interactions of alcohol with drugs may make them harmful or even toxic to the body. Consumption of alcohol is not advisable. Please consult your doctor.

Driving:

It is used to prevent and treat low vitamin B12. Lack of vitamin B12 may cause anemia and damage to the nerves. It is used to treat diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy.

How should methylcobalamin be used:

Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.

Talk to your doctor if you have very loose stools (diarrhea), are feeling very tired or weak, have a rash.

Can I take methylcobalamin with other medicines:

Use with neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, cimetidine and cochicine will decrease absorption. Inform doctor about all other drugs you are taking including herbals.

Are there any food restrictions

Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.

How do I store methylcobalamin :

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
