Uses and Benefits

Itrogo 200 Cap belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals which work by stopping the growth of fungi and is used to treat infections of the mouth, vagina, throat and other parts of the body including nails. However, the uses mentioned here may not be exhaustive. There may be other reasons or situations in which this medicine might be used.

Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Itrogo 200mg Cap is an antifungal medication which kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane and arresting the growth.

Contraindications and Caution

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking Itrogo 200mg Cap:

• Hypersensitivity or allergy to Itrogo 200mg Cap or any of its components
• Heart failure
• Weakened immune system
• Liver ailments
• Kidney disease

Side and Adverse Effects

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of Itrogo 200mg Cap. This medication is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. Most side effects do not require any medical attention and will eventually disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if the symptoms persist. Most of the common side-effects are generally mild and may include:

• Convulsions
• Dry mouth
• Irregular heartbeat
• Increased thirst
• Abdominal pain
• Decreased urine output
• Nausea
• Common cold
• Cough
• Blurred vision
• Menstrual disorder

How to Use

The medcine may be taken with food, or as advised by your doctor. For best results, take it at the same time. It is advised not to exceed the recommended dose prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take this tab as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medication at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
Do not discontinue even if the symptoms disappear. Take the tablet for as long as the doctor recommended.
This medication should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

Warnings and Precautions

It is best to take the tablet only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Adjustment of dosage or avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Kidney:

safe to use in case of any kidney ailment/disorder? This product may be safe to use by patients with kidney ailments. Please consult your doctor in order to make sure the medicine is benefitting you and not causing any harm.

Liver:

safe to use in case of any liver ailment/disorder? This product may be unsafe to use by patients with liver ailments. This medicine may harm the liver and people with liver disease may be at increased risk of developing severe complications. Tell your doctor in order to make sure the medicine is helping you and not causing any harm.

Pregnancy:

safe to use in pregnant women? This product is unsafe to be used during pregnancy. Therefore, it should be taken by pregnant women only when recommended by the physician.

Lactation:

safe to use in breastfeeding women? This medicine may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Studies have shown that a small amount of the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. Whether this product may be used or not by a breast-feeding mother should be decided by the doctor.

Alcohol:

is it okay to consume alcohol during the use of this medicine? Mixing alcohol and medications may increase the risk of adverse reactions or complications, decrease the effectiveness of medications or even render them useless. Interactions of alcohol with drugs may make them harmful or even toxic to the body. Consumption of alcohol is not advisable. Please consult your doctor.

Driving:

does this medicine make you dizzy/ interfere with your sleep? Most people do not realize that many prescription and over-the-counter medicines can cause drowsiness and impair the ability to drive, thus making driving dangerous for themselves and others. If you notice any abnormal changes after ingesting this medicine, it is better to avoid driving. Please consult your doctor.

Food:

Interactions between food and drugs may inadvertently reduce or increase the effect of the drug. Some commonly used herbs, fruits or other ingredients may cause failure of the therapy or even cause serious alterations of the patient’s health. This product can be taken with food or without it but it is not known whether there are any interactions with food. Please consult your doctor.

Drug Interactions:

Drug interactions may be dangerous as they could change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. It is advised to keep a list of all the medicines you use including prescription or nonprescription medicines and herbal products and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. This medicine interacts with clopidogrel, oxcarbazepine, ethinyl estradiol. Do not start it on your own, stop it suddenly, or change the dosage without your doctor’s approval.

Category X: Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.
