      Jalra 50MG tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medication used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medicine is used with a proper healthy diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar level helps in preventing kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems and loss of limbs. However, the uses of the medicine mentioned here are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow Jalra 50MG tablet whole, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not break or chew or crush the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take the tablet as early as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next regularly scheduled time.
      Jalra 50MG tablet should be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body. This medicine is not recommended for children below 18 years of age.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking Jalra 50MG tablet more than the prescribed dosage. There were no reports of overdose during the clinical development program for this medicine. In case of an accidental overdose of the medicine, promptly ask for medical advice. Depending on the dosage of the tablet, symptoms may vary in individuals, you may experience the following signs or symptoms:

      • Mild and transient paraesthesia
      • Muscle pain
      • Fever
      • Oedema
      • Transient increase in lipase levels
      • Trembling
      • Persistent and severe abdominal pain

      Kidney:

      Among people with renal problems, extreme caution is recommended. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the Jalra 50MG tab may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, use of this tablet is not suggested in patients with moderate to severe liver diseases.

      Pregnancy:

      Jalra 50MG tablet should be used with caution during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      This medicine is considered safe to use in nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Since the effect of the medicine on infants is not clearly established, we recommend that you to consult your doctor before consuming the tablet.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with Jalra 50MG is not recommended as it increases side effects of the tablet. If found any symptoms of extreme drowsiness, vomiting, confusion, report to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      This medicine affects blood glucose levels and decreases alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, confusion, so do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      What is Vildagliptin for:

      This medication is an oral antidiabetic agent, prescribed for type 2 diabetes mellitus along with other medications. It works by increasing the amount of two incretin hormones in the body that are normally produced naturally by the body in response to food intake.

      How does Vildagliptin work:

      This increases insulin sensitivity, decreases glucagon secretion and improves ß-cell function.

      How should Vildagliptin be used:

      It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. PO- with metformin or a thiazolidinedione: 50 mg twice daily; with a sulfonylurea: 50 mgday in the morning. Maximum: 100 mgday.

      Common side effects of Vildagliptin :

      Hypoglycaemia, delayed gastric emptying, nausea and vomiting. Flu-like symptoms, headache and dizziness may occur.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Any bruising or bleeding. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Vildagliptin with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
