It predominantly relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, breathing difficulties, coughing, nasal congestion, etc. caused by bronchospasm such as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out, thus making easier for air to move in and out. It is also used in the treatment of common cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, congestion. However, the uses of the syrup mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Kofarest PD 100ML syrup are Ambroxol (15Mg), Guaifenesin (50Mg) and Terbutaline (1.25Mg)/5ML
Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that loosen thick mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. It reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions (mucus) and helps in its removal from the airways.
