Librax tablet is an antispasmodic medicine used in the treatment of relieving cramps and abdominal pain (associated with gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, enterocolitis, diarrhea, constipation etc.) when these digestive function disorders are associated with excessive anxiety and tension. It prevents sudden spasm of muscles to relieve cramps and stomach pain. The tablet is also used in treating peptic ulcer disease characterized by nausea, abdominal pain, bloating, burning stomach pain. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Librax tablet are Chlordiazepoxide 5 Mg and Clidinium bromide 2.5 Mg.

Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine which works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger known as GABA by supressing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Clidinium bromide relieves muscles and cramps by relaxing the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestine.

How to Use

How to Use

Take Librax tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
The tablet should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30-60 minutes before meals. Take the tablet at the same time as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor as it has a potential of becoming habit-forming.

Overdosage

Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Librax tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

Lactation:

Alcohol:
